Description

Spring 2020 was cold. One cold November afternoon a couple of Kookaburra’s landed on the clothesline as they are often doing. As I was painting them, I thought about how cold it was and my earlier painting There will be no snapback 2020 and thought well Spring has brought a cold snap, and so I painted the Kookaburra, who has ruffled his feathers against the cold, sitting on the frozen line still hoping for a worm to raise their head! The frozen line is juxtaposed against the warm colours of the cloths pegs has made for a humorous image…if only climate change did not have such serious connotations to all living things.
